The value of a measurably more accurate, faster and less
expensive work product is severely compromised if your confidential information
is at risk.
That’s why we have built a network infrastructure based on some of the most advanced,
reliable and secure technologies available today. Our attorneys use the latest
hardware, software and related technology to view images of client confidential
data only on servers in the originating jurisdiction, in the U.S., U.K. E.U. and
elsewhere. No data ever leaves its originating jurisdiction in hardcopy,
electronic or any other format, whatsoever.
It is also why we subscribe to the most stringent global security standards and
business practices in use by businesses world-wide and have an industry-leading
business continuity plan, to ensure that we’ll always be here for you.
Security is a complex matter for any organization. It begins with standards and,
if done well, extends to business practices and organizational culture. As a
start, our firm complies with the internationally recognized information security
management system standards set forth by
ISO/IEC 27001:2005.
These standards establish requirements for security controls including availability,
integrity and preservation of confidential information and consist of more than 400
separate criteria that address issues relating to people, physical and environmental
security, communications, operations management and technology.
One security standard may not always be enough, though. That’s why we have a
globally applicable and locally enforceable code of conduct that is based on an
internationally recognized global codex for ethics and business conduct. It’s also
why we have developed, and follow, a three-tier conflict management process and
legal ethics strategy for complying with the
American Bar Association Model Rules of Professional Conduct,
including
ABA Formal Opinion 08-451.
Without exception our security standards, code of conduct and conflict management
process are enforced on a zero tolerance basis.
Significant business disruptions happen more than most people know. Maybe it’s
something as simple as bad weather or the outbreak of the flu. At other times it
could be worse, maybe a fire, flood or something catastrophic. To prepare for
the inevitable disruption, we have a business continuity plan that follows
guidelines set forth by NFPA 1600
and includes multi-tiered disaster recovery scenarios and plans for each of our
operating locations. This way we are ready when the inevitable occurs.
